I don't mind scratches on titanium (will scratch easier, but less noticeable than when you scratch up the DLC coating). I've NEVER been a fan of any color coatings on watches (I prefer a raw finish with protective coating. I don't think any less of the Garmin Tactix Delta Solar, just don't think it will age as well in dress attire. got screen for drugs and steroid usage on my stay lol.Įnded up purchasing the Fenix 6 Sapphire Titanium Edi. just said I was the next Lance Armstrong, but without the steroid usage lol. Last time I was in the hospital to see a cardiologist for it. I've had issues in the past with it getting too low (in the 20's) and it helps me to verify that I need to get myself checked out. I also use it for tracking my heart rate. The watch allows me to track general health, activity, and indoor/outdoor runs. I use the Garmin platform for my Edge 530 (cycling computer) and would like to keep all my stats/data in the same ecosystem since it plays fairly well with other platforms. Plus, the bezels dent/scratch surprisingly easy.

but the batter life and no solar is a deal breaker for me. I could get away with that on the Titanium Fenix 6 sapphire. I like wearing a watch when dressing for formal occasions and I don't see this watch fitting the bill lol.

I'll probably end up just going with it and use it as a tool which is what drew me over to the Instinct/Fenix series of watches. Noticed this morning it jump from 5-7 day wait to the 3-5 week processing time. just debating on pulling the trigger lol. The last few days it has been sitting in my Garmin cart with a 20% off coupon. I figured the Tactix was a better watch for the money but only comes with the woven band and silicone opposed to titanium. The model I was looking at is $100 less than the Tactix. Also, titanium seems to get roughed up kind of easily from my experience. I liked the larger screen on the "x" series and better battery life. Regarding your question, I found the Fenix 6 sapphire with titanium band to be really nice. I like on the Fenix/Tactix models you can fit much more info/complications on the screen. I recently tried an Instinct-solar (great watch. I mostly would use the watch for biking, fitness tracking, running, weight lifting, and as a watch. The only real tactical feature is the night-vision feature and it isn't compatible with some of the newer NVGs coming out. It is more advertising than anything else. I don't really consider the "tactical" features really tactical lol. Also, It is the only model I'm aware of offering sapphire and a solar panel from Garmin.

The newer (solar) version also includes the woven band, which is a big plus for me. I prefer the styling (not the color/coating), solar, and sapphire glass. I just seen you can customize these in the control settings. If you want it for business setting, I'd shoot for the fenix.Įdit2: I was wrong about it not having find my phone feature. Whichever decision you make, it's the right decision!Įdit: also, the metal slate grey Garmin bands(sorry can't think of the names) look a lot better on the fenix 6x compared to the delta although it looks great on the delta as well. People don't really care if they have the blue tint, but after going black, I couldn't go back. If I didn't like the black screen over the blue so much, I probably would have saved my cash and kept the fenix 6x. The only downside is not having the find my phone feature :( My fenix 6x doesn't have any, if that helps.Īs far as the reflection goes, I swear I don't blind myself with this delta as much as I have the 6x it seems the screen is domed differently, but I could be mistaken.Īll in all, I love the watch. I just got mine and already put a couple scratches and dings into the bezel, which I'm okay with.
